1918.

To the Secretary,

H. M. Treasury,

Dear Sir,

Whitehall, S. F. 1.

In reely to your letter, dated 27th inst., Ref. 0 2387,

the amount loaned to the Syndicate, after registration in

December, 1916, by prominent merchants in Mincing Lane was

27,850.0.0., with an undertaking to advance a further 10/-

in respect of every £l when required.

A few participants advanced 21 in full, and their

interests renresent

£1.350.0.0.

Members have now spreed to accept shares of £1 each

in satisfaction of the debt.

An amount of 4000 £1 shares will be allotted to the

Vendors as fully paid, in consideration of their having made

over to the Syndicate options and rights, together with full

study and the result of preparatory work aocomolished over a

number of years. These shares will be issued to -

E. Gerondal

0. Andreae

H. Nyet

L. Guilbert.

We agaid beg to emphasise most strongly that the

extreme urgency in the interests of this country for the issue

of oanital up to a total of £100,000 is fully recognised by

reputable business merchants in London, and that if the

Government is, anxious to forward British trade interests in the

directions already indicated, the present moment is most vital.
